About

Though I’ve lived on the East Coast half my life, I still call myself a California Girl. I was born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area and educated in Santa Barbara. After so many years in the Golden State, I moved the 3,000 miles to experience life on the East Coast, met a great guy, and now here I am, living in a suburb of Boston, married with two kids. San Francisco is still home but so is Boston.

I’ve traveled to 47 states and four continents by plane, by train, by bus and by car. I’ve photographed the Acropolis, paddled New Zealand’s Shotover River, Alaska’s Resurrection Bay, and Wyoming’s Jenny Lake. I’ve climbed Ayer’s Rock, the Eiffel Tower, and Half Dome, walked Boston’s Freedom Trail and across the Golden Gate Bridge. I’ve traveled by myself, with friends, and for the last several years with my family.

Though life sometimes gets in the way, I love to travel. I like to explore and to discover new places whether near or far from home. I’m always on the prowl for new things, new trails or new restaurants, new recipes or new books. I am a writer, a photographer, a gluten-free cook, and an avid reader. I love being outdoors and hiking or running trails with my dog, my kids, and my husband.

Stay tuned for posts about travels old and new.
